We had a great workday in the Hosta and Founders Gardens. The weather was nice, and we had a wonderful group join in to get the garden looking fabulous! The work started with cleanup from the hail storm. Limbs came down, and the hostas looked a little ragged from the hail damage, but other than that, all was good. Many of the hostas now feature some interesting leaf shapes from the hail storm, but all are still beautiful. There were new petunias, impatients, coleus,sweet potato vines, begonias, and some new hostas to get in the ground. There were also plenty of weeds that had to be tackled, too—in both gardens! A HUGE ‘Thank You’ to all those that gathered to help Thursday: Dana Bruns, Roberta Stewart, Barb Decker, Donna Fritz, Autumn Overton Willis, Tony Ahart, Robert Childress, Isaac Lair, Barbara Brown, Patricia Monday, Mary Rudolph, and Kristie Polk—not forgetting J.J. Averett, who gets our workdays scheduled, orders new plants, brings treats, and spends many hours in these gardens! These gardens are beautiful because of YOU!
